Euskorpora was invited to participate in the Annual General Assembly of Labayru Fundazioa, an institution founded in 1977 with the aim of researching, promoting, and disseminating the Basque language and culture. The event brought together over 100 people interested in the present and future of the Basque language.
The meeting took place on April 7, during which Leire Barañano, General Director of Euskorpora, presented the initiative, its mission, objectives, network of partners, and the actions being undertaken to strengthen the presence of the Basque language in the digital era. She also addressed the main challenges and opportunities facing the Basque language in the context of growing digitalisation in society, highlighting the importance of meeting the needs of both the business and institutional sectors and taking advantage of the opportunities offered by AI model generation to develop a solid technological and industrial ecosystem around the Basque language.
“Opportunities are key,” Barañano emphasized. “We are well-positioned, we have a very robust ecosystem, and we know the path forward.”
The director of Labayru Fundazioa, Igone Etxebarria, highlighted the importance of such collaborations to advance the promotion of the Basque language.
Euskorpora’s participation in this event reaffirms its commitment to linguistic and technological innovation and its role as a key player in building a digital future for the Basque language.
