Yesterday, 14 October, Leire Barañano, managing director of Euskorpora, was invited to present our work, our character, our objectives, our framework, etc. at an event organised by the European Language Data Space (LDS) and the European Commission (EC), in collaboration with Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (BSC), in Barcelona.

Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to learn in depth about the different initiatives currently underway in Europe.  We were also able to see  the presentation of work by other public bodies, companies and research centres.

Being able to see the work of other companies and entities in this sector, has shown us that we all face the same obstacles. That is why we must promote collaboration and carefully analyse market needs. Among the different agents, we must strive to create a high-quality digital corpus and address the different needs that exist for its specific application.

At Euskorpora, we are on that path, in the process of generating data, identifying the needs of the different value chains, and identifying and coordinating the knowledge and collaborations we will need to address them.

It is a challenge and there is a lot of work of different types ahead, but all areas are necessary: research, industry, administration, academia… and we are on that path.

It is an honour to be invited to participate in this international meetings, which promote European collaboration and allow us to reflect and learn together. Thank you for recognising the work we do at Euskorpora and the ecosystem we have been shaping.
