Leire Barañano, General Manager of Euskorpora, attended the inauguration of the Linguistic Data Space (LDS) at the Cité internationale de la langue française in Château de Villers-Cotterêts, France, a key event for the development of language technologies in Europe.
During the conference, the conference delved into how the LDS is building a European marketplace for sharing language data and services, a joint effort that reflects the importance of transnational cooperation. Presentations by Georg Rehm (DFKI) on the creation of this common data space, and Stelios Piperidis (ILSP), who explained the architecture of the LDS, highlighted the strength of collaboration between European institutions.
In addition, there was the opportunity to learn about the experiences of key users such as José Manuel Gómez Pérez (expert.ai), Tiina Lindh-Knuutila (lingsoft.ai) and Manuel Herranz (Pangeanic), who showed how this collaborative environment is driving innovation in their respective areas.
At Euskorpora, we are convinced and committed to cooperation within the European framework of language resources. This event has allowed us to strengthen our ties with key experts and organisations across Europe, moving forward together in the creation of innovative solutions that promote Basque and other languages in the digital age. European collaboration continues to be essential to advance digitisation and language transformation.
